Materials, Waste & Practical Sustainability

Reducing avoidable packaging waste through thoughtful label and packaging decisions.

Avoiding waste starts with the specification

Separately stocked undecorated containers and self-adhesive labels can allow product information to be changed without discarding preprinted packaging. This can be particularly valuable when ingredients, regulatory wording or artwork change.

The environmental impact of a label depends on its materials, adhesive, use and disposal route. We avoid sweeping claims that any one construction is automatically sustainable.

Reducing avoidable waste in practice

The most useful environmental improvements can be simple specification decisions, not sweeping claims about materials.

Decouple bottles and printed decoration

An undecorated bottle can support several printed artwork versions without making every artwork change a whole-container disposal problem.

Plan slitting and production efficiently

Suitable parent-web widths, slit formats and run planning can avoid waste. Material/liner disposal and recycling depends on the real local collection route.

Energy use and equipment

Our supplied factory materials include solar-panel footage. Technology upgrades, including UV LED, may help reduce operating energy and heat, but performance claims should be backed by measurements.
