Materials & Finishes

Paper, film, adhesives, liners and decorative finishes selected for the job.

A material specification is a practical decision

We work with paper and film facestocks, permanent and removable adhesives, and specialist constructions. Performance depends on the surface, application temperature, service conditions and the way the label is used.

Representative self-adhesive label application

Paper and textured papers

Uncoated, coated and tactile stocks for a wide range of product applications.

Films

Options for applications where appearance, flexibility or moisture resistance matter.

Adhesives

Permanent, removable and specialist choices, selected for the actual substrate and conditions.

Hot foil and decorative effects

Metallic detail and embellishment for premium packaging.

The three parts of every self-adhesive construction

A label is not only the face material. The adhesive and backing liner are just as important when it moves through a printing press or applicator.

Face material: paper or film

Semi-gloss, uncoated, textured and metallised papers offer different aesthetics. PP, PE and PET films suit different combinations of moisture, conformity and durability.

Adhesive: match the real conditions

Permanent, removable and cold/wet-capable adhesives respond differently to glass, board, plastics, oily surfaces and temperature. The right construction is validated on the actual packaging.

Liner: part of the machine specification

Glassine and film liners affect thickness, feeding, die-cutting and dispense characteristics. Reel direction, core size and diameter must suit the machine as well.
